Faith. Family. Community.
Hendrix Temple Church of God in Christ is a small but powerful church dedicated to making a big impact. We believe that even a small congregation can create meaningful change when faith, family, and community are at the center of everything we do.
Our Vision: To be a place where people of all ages can grow spiritually, connect deeply, and serve actively, building a church that transforms lives and uplifts communities.
This church was founded in 1953 by Bishop and Lady M.H. and Gladys Hendrix. Bishop was a traveling, Holy Ghost preacher. Known as a dynamic preacher full of power and wisdom. He laid the foundation for this great work.
Upon his passing, Bishop C.D. Willis, of Plain Dealing, Louisiana, was consecrated and appointed Pastor of Hendrix Temple by the Presiding Bishop and founder of Evangelist Temple HORFAN, Bishop S.R Chambers.
Bishop Willis succeeded him as the International Prelate for the ET diocese, while still pastoring the local church.
Bishop Willis was the second pastor of Hendrix Temple COGIC, and expanded on the vision of the founder. Through tent revivals, Holy Ghost services, and effective witnessing, the church grew.
Bishop Willis pastored until God, through his divine providence, called Bishop Willis home to rest.
Our current pastor, Elder Ron Blackmon, will continue in the same legacy of faith, family, and community.
This church is a pillar of this community, and is here to stay!
